I am a singer, songwriter and voice teacher – and the founder of Sound Your Voice. Through Sound Your Voice, I offer one-to-one lessons and group formats online and in person for people who want to develop their voice and unfold their musical expression in a supportive space.
I believe that every voice is unique. My work is about helping people uncover their true voice, develop their individuality and independence, and express themselves more freely and authentically. For me, vocal technique, musical skills and creative tools are there to support that process and open up more freedom in singing and speaking.
In my teaching, I bring together functional voice training with an open, playful and artistic approach to the voice. A central part of this work is Vocal Balance — helping the voice feel free, supported and reliable. What matters to me is creating a space where learning can happen without pressure to perform — with attention, curiosity and joy in your own voice and in the process of developing it.
My musical home is in jazz, as well as in an open, cross-genre approach to music-making. Over the years, I have worked across a range of musical and interdisciplinary contexts — in the studio, on stage and in collaborative projects. Under my artist name Lil Maxine, I release my own music and perform in a range of musical settings.
Training and artistic practice go hand in hand in my work. I graduated in Jazz Voice from the Vienna Music Institute in 2014, and early on I developed a strong interest in body, movement and perception — including several years of study in Music and Movement Education/Rhythmic at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Since 2019, I have continued to deepen my training as a voice teacher with the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA). The work there gives me precise tools for assessing voices in a nuanced way and for choosing exercises that are effective, healthy and sustainable — across styles and levels of experience.
From 2022 to 2025, I developed and led Collaborative Vocal Improvisation formats together with singer and vocal improviser Danielle Styles.
Alongside this, I have been supporting people in one-to-one and group settings for over ten years. A particular focus of my work is helping singers build trust in their voice and experience it as a strong, expressive and reliable instrument.
Since 2017, I have also been teaching regularly at the GEA Akademie in Schrems.
After several years of teaching and leading workshops in England, I am now continuing Sound Your Voice from Vienna. The focus remains the same: to strengthen voices in their individuality and to support people in finding their own self-directed path with the voice.
